Talking about honey jars; honey does not have to bee "canned". The containers (bottles, jars, bears, etc) should be sterilized by dishwasher, hand dipped in boiling water, etc. Commercial lids or caps with self sealing proof of seal should be used. For those using screw on caps shrink wrap seals should be used. Containers must, by law, be labeled. Labels must include name, address, phone number, weight, and "100% pure honey". Using the term "local" is suggested. DO NOT HEAT YOUR HONEY OR PLACE YOUR JARS OF HONEY IN A BOILING WATER BATH OR PRESSURE CANNER. Heat destroys the beneficial elements of the honey. Placing a jar of crystallized honey in a hot water bath (100 degree or less) is ok to re-liquify the honey.
